This 11-story, mixed-use building in Al Mareija was designed by Madrid-based Técnica y Proyectos S.A. (TYPSA) using prefabricated concrete. The building was originally commissioned as the Sharjah Tower but is commonly referred to as the SNTTA building for the Sharjah National Tourist & Travel Agency housed on its ground floor. The structure solidified Sharjah’s dedication to become a prominent tourist destination as the emirate also constructed beach resorts, an international airport, and cultural hubs in the 1970s.
